Such an awesome wedding weekend with Megan and Mike. Their day brought me back home to Rochester… Every time I go back there’s something new to see and new restaurants popping up all the time! I arrived at Broadway Plaza as everyone was getting ready, and as I walked into the penthouse to meet up with Megan, I wasn’t prepared for the crazy epic views of this city! I found my way to one of the balconies and stretched over the rail to get a few shots of the city grid below. Wind is deceivingly strong that high up!
While Megan was getting ready, her bridesmaids made sure everything was in place for the day (and they also taught me a lot about their love of all things Jaclyn Hill). After an awesome emotional first look with Mike, we walked through the streets to their ceremony at the Castle.
Walking into the Castle, I was stunned! The Castle building is a rather new venue, but rich in history, initially being the historic Rochester armory. Beyond housing an event space, the Castle building is teeming with artists working in their studios, hosting galleries, or seeking inspiration from the super awesome library within. With Naura and her team at the helm, the day was flawless!
There were eye-watering toasts and jaw-dropping dance moves, but what struck me most was the way Megan and Mike look out for each other. They wanted to take photos in the library (super rad idea btw), and I thought to myself, of course they do! Constantly learning; they push each other. They want to grow and challenge and support each other to be their best. They’re a team and that’s awesome.
